EtonHouse Reflection to share

Open ended materials create endless possibilities for learning…..You will notice many open ended materials set up as invitations to learning around the environment at Claymore. These are carefully considered and intentionally supported by the teacher as children explore the many possibilities they hold. Open ended materials can be used from simple to complex, they support innovative thinking as the children keep reinventing multiple ways of working with them. Example- Wooden sticks may be used to create a representation, letters, patterns, to sort and much more!

EtonHouse have had a very special two weeks at Claymore with the Sponsored Charity Walk being part of our programme with the children on the 22nd May. You can read more about this day and the purpose of incursions/excursions on page 2 & 3. EtonHouse have also seen parent volunteers continue to contribute their time and wonderful interactions with us in the children’s kitchen, EtonHouse would like to thank you for your participation! As per the School Calendar, you will receive a letter this week from Ms Harriette introducing your child’s class, teachers and social contact list for August. EtonHouse look forward to the next academic year as we continue to share the joy of learning with you and your child. As part of our International context we unfortunately say goodbye to some children and staff as they move onto other adventures each year. At the end of this academic year we will bid a fond farewell to our core teachers Ms Lynsey and Ms Meghan as they embark on their next teaching journey overseas, our Associate Teacher Ms Priya who will continue her studies, our Mandarin Teachers Ms Zhu Wei Hua as she returns to Shanghai and Ms Liu who will take on further studies.
