Founded in 1835, The College at Brockport is a nationally recognized four-year comprehensive public college focused on student success. 
The 464-acre campus has 67 buildings occupying about one-quarter of the campus, with rolling grassy fields and wooded land.Brockport, NY is a small college town of 8,100 residents located on the historic Erie Canal. Located in Greater Rochester (Monroe County), the campus is 16 miles from downtown, 45 miles east of Buffalo, NY, and is a short drive from the Canadian border. 
The academic programs are committed to seeking national accreditations when such accreditations are available. Twelve of the undergraduate and graduate programs, notably Business Administration (AACSB) and Educational Certification (NCATE), have earned accreditations for meeting high standards of quality and demonstrating a commitment to educational excellence.
The College at Brockport has also been recognized as one of the best colleges and best values in the Northeast according to The Princeton Review’s "Best Colleges in the Northeast" and "America’s Best Value Colleges." Brockport was included in "America's Best Value Colleges" in the US News & World Report "America's Best Colleges" guide and were included in "100 Best Values" by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.
Brockport offers 49 undergraduate majors, 47 master’s degree programs, and teacher certification in 24 areas. Each year, The College at Brockport awards approximately 25% of all bachelor degrees in the Rochester area, with many alumni staying in Rochester to work or attend graduate school. Their alumni serve in leadership roles in business, government, public safety, health care, the arts, sciences and education.
The College at Brockport was selected as one of 218 institutions receiving its 
"Best in the Northeast" designation by The Princeton Review. Among "America's Best Colleges" by US News & World Report, Among "100 Best Values" by Kiplinger's Personal Finance, Listed in the "Guide to 322 Green Colleges" by The Princeton Review's Guide to Green Colleges and Named "Military Friendly School" by GI Jobs.
The College was awarded the 2010 Financial Literacy Leadership Award from the National Student Loan Program (NSLP) — one of only three colleges nationwide to earn this distinction. The award recognizes higher education institutions that provide outstanding financial literacy education to their students.
