Help the Hungry and the Homeless Through Fast to Feed

There’s only one rule you need to follow: You can’t eat anything from dawn to sunset, but you are allowed to drink, if this is your first time. So be sure to eat before the beginning of dawn.

The goal of Fast to Feed is not only to learn to be more charitable by experiencing the hunger faced by people around you but to also break the fast with the Muslim community and experience the joy of eating some international cuisine.

All proceeds collected from this event will go to support the hungry and the homeless through the Chicago Food Depository.

IIT is pleased to include Fast to Feed as one of a series of Muslim Journeys events taking place on campus throughout 2013. The Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys was a project of the National Endowment for the Humanities, conducted in cooperation with the American Library Association. Support was provided by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York. Additional support for the arts and media components was provided by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art.
