TOP OF NEW ZEALAND IN BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS AND ACCOUNTING
Outstanding performances in the Cambridge International Examinations will see four Avondale College students being honoured for their achievements - which include four IGCSE top New Zealand scholar awards and one A Level Top of the World award.
Year 13 student Matthew Kendall came top of the world in the A Level Psychology paper, an astonishing achievement especially given that last year more than one million students sat Cambridge examinations in more than 9000 schools in countries around the world, including United Kingdom, United States, China, India, and Singapore, as well as throughout Europe, South America and the Middle East.
This is the second CIE award for Matthew: last year he topped New Zealand in New Zealand History.
Three IGCSE (Year 11) students achieved top marks in New Zealand in four different examinations:
Ethan Sorrell came top in two examinations: Biology and Chemistry, with Jane Wang completing the science sweep with a first in Physics. Jayden Cooke came first in IGCSE Accounting,These outstanding achievements will be recognised at an awards ceremony on 21 February 2013 at Auckland Grammar School's Centennial Theatre.
