On the 19th of June our awesome teacher Mrs Morton took us to visit her son’s kindy in Hobsonville. Hobsonville Kindergarten was having a book week and invited us to come and share some of our favourite books with them. On our visit we took our favourite books, “What Can You See”, “I’m the King of the Mountain” and a book that room 3 made called “Room 3 go Exploring”. When Emma got to school we hopped into her van and her mum drove us to Hobsonville Kindergarten. I felt a little bit scared to read the book but I was excited to see all the children. We introduced ourselves to the teachers, Nancy, Helen and Sarah. They were very nice to us and were excited for us to read to the kids.

We then played with the kids at the building table. We helped them to make a wooden house. We were so lucky to be given hot chocolate and a piece of cake. The cake was a yummy chocolate one. At 10:30 we got our books ready and the bell rang for the children to come and sit on the mat. The children sat down in front of us and were very quiet. Mrs Morton introduced us and I started to read the first book, “Room 3 Go Exploring”. After I read the book, Emma used her communication device and introduced herself and read the children “What Can You See”.

The children enjoyed finding all the animals hidden in the book. Our last book was “I’m the King of the Mountain”. The children helped us to sing the words. They laughed when I gave them a fright. I used different voices for the animals and the children loved it. When we finished reading the children clapped and smiled. The kindy teachers said a big thank you. I saw the Sunshine Coach parked outside and we left to come back to school. When we got back to school we felt very proud of ourselves for reading very well. We were excited to share what had happened with our friends. We loved reading and can’t wait to go again.
