Studying Hospitality Management
Seattle Central Community College welcomes students wishing to major in Hospitality Management. Students can prepare for such major by studying the first two years of their undergraduate studies at Seattle Central Community College, then transferring to university for the remaining two years of their Bachelor’s degree curriculum.
In the first two-years of their undergraduate studies at Seattle Central, students will complete general education courses (Liberal Arts and Sciences for example), as well as all the classes necessary to major in Hospitality Management (Math, Economics, Accounting, Business, etc...). In the last two years of their Bachelor’s degree curriculum, at the university or 4-year college, students will only focus on their major and study Hospitality Management classes.
Transfer options after completion of the Associate’s degree / first two years with
Seattle Central would include, among others:

Getting credits for AP, IB, A-Level & university classes
Applicants who have studied in a college / university program or graduated from
high school may be able to transfer credits earned to Seattle Central Community
College. The credits may be used to meet requirements for a degree program.
To learn if the credits students already completed can be transferred, request a
preliminary evaluation of their transcripts on the admission application form, include copies of the transcripts with their application materials, and pay the $50 application and processing fee. Students will receive a preliminary evaluation of their transcripts along with their acceptance materials. Please note that the evaluation will not be finalized until students submit an evaluation request form in person, and original, official transcripts to the International Student Center, after they enroll at Seattle Central.
In general, transferring credits will normally be based on the following factors:
- Level of study (secondary, post-secondary, etc.)
- Recognition / Accreditation of the institution
- Type of credential awarded
- Type of program (academic, professional / technical, etc.)
The usefulness of the credits transferred in will depend on the degree students choose to pursue at Seattle Central and that degree’s requirements.
Seattle Central does have pre-determined transfer credit policies for the following:
- International Baccalaureate (IB)
- College Board Advanced Placement Examinations (AP)
- GCE Advanced Level (A-Level) Examinations
- Certain high school diplomas (depending on program structure and content)
