Ei Study updates: Singapore polytechnic STAFF AND ALUMNI COME TOGETHER TO SHARE CHRISTMAS JOY WITH UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN
Spearheaded by Department of Industry Services (DIS), a Christmas party for 40 children from the Singapore Children’s Society saw staff from Alumni Relations Office, Technology Development Office (TDO) and Departments of Corporate Communications, Student Development, and Finance as well as School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology (DMIT) actively contributing both time and money to make it a memorable outing for the children. This annual affair saw SP Alumni coming back this year to contribute and participate in the festivities as well.
Director of Industry Services and the Alumni Relations Office, Mr Song Nay Hay welcomed the children and then the special guests had a fun time going on a treasure hunt. A magic show by SP Magician Club and entertainment by Parrots Network followed after lunch. There were prizes galore during the games and each child was presented with a goodie bag as well as book and food vouchers, courtesy of Estates and Development Department and donations from SP staff and alumni. Jave Lin, Management Support Officer with TDO and SP alumnus, who volunteered to help out with the Treasure Hunt activity, said: “In my years of community service, this is my first time interacting with children. I think what we are doing is a meaningful thing, letting the kids have something memorable this holiday season.”
